OTTAWA - Margaret M. "Mike" Schimmoeller, 91, of Ottawa, passed away at 1:07 p.m., Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at The Meadows of Kalida surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 3, 1935, in Glandorf to the late John and Mary (Rosenbauer) Hermiller. On October 13, 1956, she married Felix "Flop" Fenbert, who preceded her in death on May 21, 1975. On August 7, 1986, she married Kenneth Schimmoeller, who also preceded her in death on January 27, 1993.
Survivors include seven children: Tim (Cindy) Fenbert of Ft. Wayne, IN, Cindy (Mark) Halker of Columbus Grove, Kathy (Keith) Buist of Ottawa, Jackie (Bob) Peckinpaugh of Leipsic, Beth (Pete) Collins of Ottawa, Annette (Leo) Schroeder of Miller City and Brenda (Scott) Hanneman of Ottawa; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; stepchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; brother, John Hermiller of Glandorf; sister, Donna Utrup of Ottawa; brother-in-law, Cleo Liebrecht of Ottawa; and sisters-in-law, Bertha Hermiller and Roni Hermiller.
She was also preceded in death by a grandchild: Dustin Hanneman; seven brothers: Wilfred (Ruthie) Hermiller, Richard (Lou Ann) Hermiller, Lavern (Delores/Marge) Hermiller, Arthur (Alice) Hermiller, Carl Hermiller, Dennis Hermiller and Harold Hermiller; six sisters: Florence "Flossie" (Thaddeus) Schroeder, Joyce Hermiller, Mary Ann Hermiller, Genevieve (Henry) Rosengarten, Delores (Arthur) Schimmoeller and Doris Liebrecht; a brother-in-law, Adrian Utrup; and two sisters-in-law: Emma Rosengarten and Mary Ann Hermiller.
Margaret retired from Philips, Ottawa. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf, the Altar Rosary Society, Catholic Ladies of Columbia, GLL Club and former member of the Ottawa Eagles Auxiliary. Margaret loved camping, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends.
The family would like to thank The Meadows of Kalida for the awesome care they gave Mike.
Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 7, 2026, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Steve Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with a scripture service beginning at 1:45 p.m. and a rosary service beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Putnam County Hospice.
