Margaret "Peggy" Shugrue, of Ft. Pierce, FL, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024. Born on August 28, 1939, Peggy lived a full and vibrant life, and cherished family memories.
Peggy was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, Bill Shugrue, who passed away in 2011. In 1992, Peggy and Bill moved to Florida. They enjoyed the Florida beaches and traveling to beautiful destinations, including Caribbean cruises, the Panama Canal, Italy, and Ireland, creating countless cherished memories along the way.
Peggy was a wonderful cook, delighting family and friends with her culinary creations. A voracious reader and a passion for sports, particularly Florida Gators basketball.
Peggy is survived by her two sons, Greg Shugrue and his wife Ellen, and Christian Shugrue and his wife Bonnie. She was a proud and loving grandmother to five grandchildren: Brianna, Megan, Aidan, Lydia, and Brendan.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful caregivers at Coastal Quality Assisted Living in Ft. Pierce and Vitas Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Peggy’s final days.
Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will always be remembered with love and affection.
A private family service will be held to celebrate Peggy's life.
