Margaret Sue Merrill was born in Mt. Morris on March 30, 1938, daughter of the late Harris and Jean (Philpott) Merrill. She married Bobby Sims on June 13, 1955. He preceded her in death January 22, 2012. Margaret always put her family first, a proud homemaker and caretaker for her children. She was often found reading or playing games with her children and grandchildren. Trips to the casino or attending BINGO with friends also brought her great joy. Margaret and Bobby enjoyed traveling. Some of their favorite trips were to Alaska, wintering in Florida for many years, before moving there for 5 years. For their 50th anniversary, they took a memorable trip to Europe. Faith was most important to Margaret. She was a lifelong member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she was very active.

Margaret is survived by 3 sons, Mark (Tammy) Sims, Jeff (Connie) Sims, Daniel (Jennifer) Sims; grandchildren, Adrienne (Heather), Adam (Tiffany), Amber (Justin), Erik, Kyle, Marcus (Maggie), George and Josie (Logan); 3 great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Asher and Madison; many other loving family members and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Margaret was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Joy, Lola, Judy and her twin, Mabel.
