Margaret Josephine MaGouirk Snow (Jo)

August 31, 1934 – May 4, 2025

Mabank, TX

Margaret Josephine MaGouirk Snow, fondly known as Jo, peacefully departed this life on May 4, 2025, at the age of 90. Born in Amarillo, Texas, on August 31, 1934, she was the beloved daughter of Harold MaGouirk and India Leota Gandy.

On February 2, 1952, Jo wed Elton Ray Snow, after only knowing him for 2 weeks, and as a result they shared a wonderful journey together for 70 years until Ray's passing in 2022. Together, they nurtured six wonderful children, creating a warm home filled with love, faith, creativity, and a delightful touch of chaos. Jo was a devoted wife and mother, serving as the heart of her family and a passionate supporter of her children’s pursuits.

After raising her children, Jo went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Texas, which she considered to be one of her greatest accomplishments, teaching her children that it is never too late to pursue your dreams.

Jo had a profound love for the arts, finding joy in painting, crocheting, cooking, crafting jewelry, and engaging in creative projects with her grandchildren. Durango, Colorado, held a special place in her heart, a cherished town from her childhood that she longed to revisit.

A woman of unwavering faith, Jo deeply loved the Lord, Jesus Christ, and made a lasting impact by sharing His love with others. Her kindness, generosity, and steadfast support will be fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Jo is preceded in death by her parents, Harold MaGouirk and Leota Gandy; her brother, Buddy MaGouirk; her husband, Elton Ray Snow; and her son, Daniel Snow.

Jo is survived by her children: Tina Snow, Sherral Snow, Cynthia Snow Bell, Rodney Snow, and Kathleen Snow; Sisters in law, Patricia MaGouirk and Peg Snow, as well as 19 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren
