Peggy Thompson (Uebbing), aged 55 passed away August 12, 2025 following a steadfast fight with Type 1 Diabetes. She was born in North Dakota and raised in Michigan, but soon enough reckoned being cold was a mistake and altogether avoidable and she relocated to Savannah, GA in 1994.
Savannah provided the climate, the backdrop and the people just right for her energetic spirit and love of hospitality and friendship. While Savannah would not always be where she lived, she always considered it home.
Known for her love of fashion and with a flair-filled personal style, Peggy brought the fun wherever she went. She showed us all through her broad and eclectic group of friends that there is a place for everyone to be loved, and that place was often in her company.
Peggy made her career in the restaurant business, over the years, (or even the course of a single shift), performing every function from bussing tables to General Manager. No one out-worked her, and no one showed more devotion to her teams and employers. Most recently, she was a Manager and Event Coordinator for the now closed Paula Deen's Creek House.
Surviving Peggy are her devoted and attentive long-term partner, performer Randall Mullinax of Savannah, her Mother, Judy, Father, Don and Brother, Bill (Emily), all of Grand Rapids Michigan, and an uncountable and unnamable "family of friends" who will miss her dearly. A visitation will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Fox & Weeks Hodgson Chapel in Savannah, GA, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m..
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Peggy's honor to Breakthrough T1D
