Margarette Anna Cooper-McDonald (Terrentine) entered eternal rest on September 18th, 2025. Margarette was born February 8, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois (Cook County), to Roland and Agatha Terrentine. She was the third child of three children. Margarette, often called Margaret, attended Covert Public Schools in primary and middle grades, and also graduated from Covert High School in 1969. She professed a faith in Jesus Christ at a young age and was baptized at Covert Community Church. Margaret met and married Delbert Cooper in (South Haven MI.). To this union were born 3 children, Adeua and Jacaima both born in St. Joseph, Michigan, and a son Robert Johnathan born after their brief move to Pulaski, Tennessee.

Robert Johnathan passed away shortly after his birth in 1973, after which Margaret & her daughters moved to Battle Creek, Michigan, then to Niles, Michigan, and finally settled in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Margaret worked several years for the Salvation Army after which she changed career choices and began working as a private home care provider. This is how her children learned their love for caring for others in the healthcare industry. Margaret did not stop there. Over the years she has fostered and loved many children, who would later become permanent parts of her life long after they had aged out of her care. Margaret met and married Oyama McDonald, adding even more family members to love.

Margaret and her daughters were a close-knit family and lived within walking distance of each other, which was perfect, because they began their own families, giving her much joy and more to love. In 2000 Margaret and Jacaima moved back to Covert, Michigan. In 2009 she joined Covert Seventh Day Adventist Church (33081 M-140) under Pastor Richardson where she was a faithful and dedicated member until her eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her husband Oyama McDonald, her son Robert Jonathan, her parents Roland and Agatha Terrentine, her grandson Dovionze Roland, her great-granddaughter Adore Letrice-Lynn Snell.

She leaves to mourn her passing her daughters Jacaima Cooper (Mario) and Adeua Cooper. A bonus son Irvin (Tessa). One brother Robert (Bonnie) one sister Florine. Granddaughters Jasmine, Shanequa (Antwan), Shakeera, and Ja'Seanta Ruth. Grandsons Tyrone (Kaitlin), Tishaun, Kenneth. Great-grandchildren Adrian, Calvin (CJ), Cha'nya, Anjelo, Ivory, A'Zyrah, (And a host of BONUS Sons, Daughters, Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews).

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 12 p.m. at Filbrandt Chapel 1076 S. Bailey Ave. South Haven Michigan. Pastor William Richardson will officiate. Margarette will be laid to rest at Covert Cemetery.
