Margarita Sodre gained her angel wings on August 30th 2023, surrounded by loved ones in Apollo Beach, FL. Margarita was 84 years young. She moved to the United States in 1964 with her husband, Raul Sodre. Traveling from Uruguay to New York, they settled down in Queens. As the years went on, Margarita and her family migrated to Miami, Florida- and eventually to the Tampa Bay area. Those of us who were blessed to know Margarita understand that she lived a full life. Despite the suddenness of her passing, the imprint left on our hearts will forever remain. Margarita was adventurous in many aspects of her life. When Margarita wasn't with her family boating, barbecuing or relaxing with her beloved dog Rusty, she was vacationing across the Caribbean on different cruise lines. Her friends knew her as Maggie, and her family knew her as Lela. She had many adventures traveling with family and friends, and was always looking forward to planning the next gathering together. Margarita's family was inarguably her most important asset in her life; She was so proud to show off her favorite photos. We will always remember and honor her kindness, sense of humor, and big beautiful smile. Margarita is survived by her loving children: Raul, Susana, and Sergio. Her half children: Maurice and Brian. Her grandchildren: Aram, Danny, Samantha, Stephen. The blessing of eight great-grandchildren, other extended family members, and so many life long friends. Although we are happy she is finally reunited with her husband, Margarita was the center of the Sodre Family and is going to be greatly missed.
