Margherita Vultaggio Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 21, 2025.
Margherita Alicia Vultaggio, 85, died at Madison on Marsh on July 11, 2025, surrounded by family and so many people who cared for her and loved her.

Margie was born on December 31, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan. She lived in Detroit until she was 6 years old. Her parents moved their family to San Diego when she was a child. Her father Andrew Vultaggio and Mother Margaret Pouliot had a grocery store in Casa De Oro, CA named Andy's Ranch Market. Margie started working at the store, helping out her parents at a young age. In 1980, Margie moved to Texas with her son John and daughter Jaquel to start a new life. She worked at The Frisco Shop in Austin for 20 years as a server and retired at the age of 72. Margie had many close friends from The Frisco Shop whom she loved dearly. Margie was a devout Christian who loved Jesus deeply. She read her bible and wrote in her journals every day. Margie never met a "stranger". She loved EVERYONE and made friends everywhere she went. She crocheted scarves and blankets for her loved ones and often gave them to the homeless.

Margie had a lifelong love for animals and was rarely without a dog by her side. Her most cherished companion was her beloved Chuy, who brought her endless joy and comfort. She loved the outdoors, soaking up the sun, sitting outside with Chuy, and watching the birds and squirrels. A true sun goodness, she adored the beach and nurturing her plants. She also had a deep love for music, especially Andrea Bocelli, Leonard Cohen, Luciano Pavarotti, The Eagles, Pink Floyd and many others.

Margie is survived by her children John Hunter of Dixon, CA; Dara Grace of Buda, Tx; Jaquel Burns of Dallas, Tx; and her beloved dog Chuy Vultaggio, now living with Keke; her sister Shirley Vultaggio O'Teter, Highland Village, Tx. She had 8 beloved grandchildren, Justin, Brittney, Keiandra, Adair, Jake, Chance, Jenna and Summer. Margie also had many nieces and nephews she adored.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday August 2, 2025, at the Cove at Heatherwilde (in the clubhouse) located at 16500 Yellow Sage Street, Pflugerville, Texas 78660 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
