Margie Anne Krest went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 31, 2023. Margie's health struggles began three years ago when she fell and injured her back and shoulder. Even though she had surgery and performed physical therapy she never got back to her vibrant and agile ways. Margie had a heart attack in October 2023 and was in and out of the hospital since. Margie's heart suffered damage from the heart attack and the doctors wanted to do surgery without the guarantee of a full recovery. Margie considered the many other health issues she suffered from and made the difficult decision to discontinue treatment. This was a painful but extremely brave decision that the family supported her in making. Margie said she wanted to go home to see her husband, Kirk and Jesus.
Margie was born June 13, 1953, at St Joseph's Hospital in Houston, Texas to Alta Loretta Miles and Coy W. Miles. Margie went to school and was raised in Houston on good Christian values. She graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1971. After high school she met the love of her life, Kirk Krest. They married and lived happily in Humble Texas until Kirk passed away in 2005. Margie lived in the same house in Humble until her passing.
Margie had many hobbies. She enjoyed reading cookbooks and the newspaper. She often worked on puzzles. She had a love for travel and visiting new places. She especially loved her family and made many memories caring for her nephews Michael and Mickey, great nephews Cody and Christopher, and great nieces Ashley and Lindsey. Margie was a strong Christian along with her husband Kirk. They were both members of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. Margie was a greeter at Lakewood for more than 15 years. Margie would not want all of us to be sad but to rejoice that she has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Margie loved her family so very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kirk Krest, and sister-in-law Joy Miles. She is survived by her brother, James Miles; nephew, Michael and his wife Tracey Miles; nephew, Mickey and wife his Stacey Miles; great nephew, Cody and his wife Sydney Miles; great nephew, Christopher; great nieces, Ashley and Lindsey Miles; great great niece, Cora Miles; as well as many other relatives and friends.
"We love you and miss you Margie. The Lord decided your pain was over, and He brought you home to be with Him for life everlasting in Heaven."

Margie,
You have been on my mind this week as your birthday grew near (13th). You and your family moved next door to us on Neyland Street. We became best friends. We went everywhere together with my parents or yours. I had a great childhood growing up with you. I'm glad you are with Jesus, Kirk and your parents. James, I'm sorry for the loss of your sister. Sending prayers and love your way. I love you, Margie. I'll see you one day in heaven. Pam Shutts Barbee
