Marguerite F. Demboski
March 6, 1932 - Oct. 23, 2023
GLENS FALLS - Marguerite F. Demboski passed away peacefully on October 23, 2023, at home with her family, at the age of 91. She was born on March 6, 1932, in Albany, NY. She was the daughter of Millard and Katherine Frink.
Marguerite grew up in Altamont, NY, graduated Salutatorian from Altamont High School. She went onto SUNY Plattsburgh where she graduated with an Elementary School Teaching degree with honors. While at college, she was crowned queen of her Junior Class. She also met Lloyd Demboski who she married on July 31, 1954. Shortly there after they moved to Glens Falls where they have spent the last 69 years.
Marguerite is predeceased by her parents and brother, Charles Frink. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; children: Lisa Lockhart, Amy Hotaling (Michael), Peter Demboski, Paul Demboski (Alexa); also survived by her grandchildren: Megan, Benjamin, Katelyn, Kelly, Connor, Jessica, Emma and Julia; great-grandchildren: Grant, Reagan and Dean who all referred to her as "Grammamarbles".
Marguerite spent her first years in Glens Falls teaching at Broad Street School. She left teaching to raise her family, returning to the Presbyterian Church as a Nursery School Teacher many years later. She continued her career as the Head Start Education Coordinator until she retired.
After retirement, Lloyd and Marguerite enjoyed cruising the Adirondacks and Vermont in their convertible thunderbird, visiting some of their favorite places.
Marguerite was an avid teddy bear collector where a room was filled to display her bears. She took the time to find the perfect name for each and every one and enjoyed sharing them with her grandchildren.
Mom was always our biggest cheerleader. She was always there when you needed her, with her support, love and guidance. She was the biggest kid in the group from riding roller coasters, waterskiing, jumping off cliffs in Keene Valley or always winning at board games. She remained physically active well into her eighties. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family.
Our family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers. They cared for her, loved her, and treated her as their own family. We are truly grateful for Shelby, Brooke, Kelly, Lexi and Donna..A memorial service will be held 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the Singleton Sullivan Potter Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours are scheduled from 11:00 a.m. till noon prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
