Marguerite Giovannetti Obituary

Marguerite Giovannetti passed away on September 4, 2025. She was 72 years old.

Marguerite was the beloved sister of James (Bridgette Rause) Giovannetti Jr., and an aunt to Brooke (Kris) Sedor. Marguerite was also the lifelong best friend of Karen (Phil) Stefani and she leaves behind her cherished and loyal companion, Lucy.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Rina and Ralph Giovannetti.

Marguerite found joy in the simple pleasures of life-especially baking during the holidays, when she lovingly shared her homemade treats with friends and neighbors. A passionate gardener, she took great pride in tending to her backyard oasis. Among her greatest joys was being "Deet" to Mila and Niko, a role she embraced with love and laughter.

She will be remembered for her kind heart, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 9:30AM until time of Mass, 10AM, at Queen of All Saints Basilica, 6280 N. Sauganash Ave, Chicago. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition in honor of Marguerite. Arrangements entrusted to Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home. For info, 773-736-3833.
