Marguerite (Maggie) Langon, 69, of Kingston, NY, passed away peacefully, at her home on Thursday, July 11, 2024. Maggie was born on July 24, 1954, in Kingston, NY. The youngest daughter of the late William and Helen (Slater) Scully.
Maggie was married on July 21, 1973 to her high school sweetheart Lester Langon.
Maggie began working at Met Life in 1973 as a claims specialist and remained there until they became United Health and retired in 2018 as a customer service representative.
She was a fashionista with a flair for decorating. Especially during the holidays when she took great pride in making every gift, she wrapped distinctive and special. Shopping for her home and expansive wardrobe was her favorite pastime. And it showed, as she never went anywhere without looking her best.
Maggie is survived by her husband Lester Langon, daughter DeeAnne Langon-York and her spouse Glenn York, her two grandsons, Michael Patrick Langon and Nicholas York. Also, two great granddaughters, Amora Rodriguez and Aria Langon. In addition, she is survived by two brothers William Scully and Joseph Gregory, and a sister Carol Blasi and her daughters Jo Byrne and Cathleen Gokey. As well as many other nieces and nephews and her dear friend Mary McKinney.
In addition to her parents, Maggie is preceded in death by two brothers Charles and Patrick Scully.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401 where family and friends may visit on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 3pm to 5:30pm. A memorial will be held at 5:30pm. As Maggie loved fresh flowers, all arrangements are welcome. For those who wish, contributions in her memory may be made to the Rosemary D. Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund (www.benedictinehealthfoundation.org).
