Funeral services for Marguerite “Allison” Miller Moncla, 87, will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Ave. in Shreveport. A visitation will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the services will be Rev. McKee Williams.
Allison was born on March 10, 1936 in Shreveport, Louisiana to William P. Miller and Annie Mai Dubus Miller and passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024 in Shreveport.
Allison graduated from C.E. Byrd High School in 1954 and Louisiana Tech with a BA in Education in 1958. She married Marvin L. Moncla in 1958 after they met and went to school together at Louisiana Tech. She taught 4th grade at Barrett Elementary until her first child was born.
Allison is preceded in death by her parents, William P. Miller and Annie Mai Dubus Miller; and her sister, Dollie Marilyn Miller Gibson. Left to cherish her memory is the father of her children, Marvin L. Moncla; children, Shari Lynn Moncla, William Eugene Moncla, Michael Andre Moncla, Marvin Louis Moncla, Jr. and his wife, Renee, Benning Fields Moncla, Roger Edward Lee Moncla and wife, Brenda, Mark Wayne Moncla and wife, Deborah, and Wende Moncla Vines; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces, Aubrin Gibson Miale and husband, Rick, and Allison Gibson Ponticelli and husband, Mark; and numerous other extended family members.
The family suggests memorials may be made to the Louisiana Tech Alumni Association or the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank.
