In 1961, she met John Asch, a Navy man from New Jersey, at the hamburger stand in Kingsville where she worked. They married in 1962 and spent the next 53 years together. The Navy enabled her to experience the world outside of South Texas. After John's retirement from the Navy, she worked at the Cycle Inn Suzuki Motorcycle Dealership from 1980 to 1992. In 1992, as an insurance agent, she helped establish the Tejas Auto Insurance Agency LLC. She retired in 2002 and spent her time traveling, gardening, and engaging in numerous family events. Maria loved to entertain and was a great cook. She made the best Mexican and Italian food!!
She loved, she cared, and she made her piece of the world a better place for all those who entered it. Maria lived a full, happy, and faithful life devoted to God and her family. She practiced her faith by praying the Rosary daily.
