Maria Fernanda Azevedo

Maria Fernanda Azevedo was born on December 30, 1955 in Ribeira Seca, Sao Jorge, Azores. At the age of 69, she passed away on November 11, 2025, in Turlock, California.

In December of 1978, Maria and her husband, Manuel Azevedo, bravely immigrated to the United States with hopes and dreams of creating a better life and future for their family which was a sacrifice made out of love and determination. A decade later, in 1988, they turned that hope into reality by building their own business from the ground up. Maria worked tirelessly beside Manuel, not only as his partner in life but as his support in every sense all while being a loving and devoted mother who always placed her children at the center of everything she did.

Maria deeply cherished her family, dedicating much of her time to traveling and creating memorable experiences with her husband, children and grandchildren. Her passion for family gatherings filled her life with joy and laughter, leaving a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Maria is survived by her devoted husband, Manuel Azevedo, whom she married on December 18, 1975, in her hometown of Ribeira Seca. She leaves behind a loving family, including her son, Michael Azevedo ( Spouse: Isabel); daughter, Malinda Simao (Spouse: Antonio); and grandchildren, Matthew Azevedo (Spouse: Magdalene), Erin Azevedo, Emma Azevedo, Grace Azevedo, Kelsey Simao, and Maverick Simao.

She is also survived by her brothers, Jorge Flores Salvador, Joao Flores Salvador, and Antonio Flores Salvador; and sisters, Rosa Salvador da Silva, Maria de Fatima Azevedo, and Vitalina Flores Salvador Silva.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Joao Salvador and Rosa Silveira Flores; her sister Maria da Conceicao Salvador Borges; her father-in-law, Manuel Machado Azevedo; and mother-in-law, Maria Aurelia da Silva.

A visitation will be held at Turlock Funeral Home on November 20, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., followed by a rosary at 6:00 p.m. The funeral mass will take place at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church on November 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Turlock Memorial Park.
