In Loving Memory of Maria del Carmen Pando "Carmen"
With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Maria del Carmen Pando "Carmen," who entered eternal rest on August 14, 2025, at the age of 90.
Born on July 12, 1935, in El Paso, Texas, Carmen lived a long, beautiful life marked by resilience, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family. On July 29, 1967, she married the love of her life, Oscar M. Pando, and together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love.
Carmen was a proud and devoted mother to Michael J. Pando (wife Rowana), Marc A. Pando, and Melissa J. Rubio (husband Arturo). She was the cherished grandmother of Isabella G. Pando and Adam M. Pando, and a loving dog grandma to Corey and Cody. Her legacy lives on in each of them and in the countless lives she touched through her kindness, compassion, and generosity.
Carmen will be remembered for her gentle spirit, deep faith in God, and steadfast love for her family. She faced life's challenges with grace and strength, always offering a comforting presence to those around her. She had a keen sense of style, a generous heart, and was a wonderful cook who brought people together with her meals.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Oscar M. Pando, her parents, siblings, and many beloved family members - including her dear nephews George and Victor Hernandez, who were like sons to her.
Carmen is survived by her children and grandchildren, who will carry forward her memory and honor her by living with the same grace, strength, and love that she exemplified throughout her life.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. at San Jose Funeral Home-East, 10950 Pellicano Dr., 79935, (915)590-8700. Funeral mass Monday, August 25, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church, 11700 Pebble Hills Blvd., 79936.
