Maria Santos Jimenez Celis

Maria Santos Jimenez Celis, 66, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Emory University Hospital.

Born on July 20, 1959 in Canton las Marias, El Salvador, she was the daughter of the late Andres Jimenez and Ines Celis Rubio.

Ms. Celis is survived by her son, Santos S. Jimenez Acosta; her son, Felix Antonio Jimenez Acosta; her daughter, Maria Ines Jimenez de Araujo; her daughter, Carmen Francisca Acosta Jimenez; her daughter, Adelaida Acosta Jimenez; her son, Andres Ignacio Acosta Jimenez; her daughter, Virginia Acosta de Canales; her son Martir Antonio Acosta Jimenez; her son, Jose Pablo Acosta Jimenez; her daughter, Rosa Estela Acosta Jimenez; and her life partner, Margarito Acosta Gusman;

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee Street, between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM, with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place at Leslie Cemetery immediately following the service.
