Mrs. Maria Magdalena Cruz, 88, entered into eternal rest on July 13, 2024 in Laredo, Texas, surrounded by her loving family at her side.

She is preceded in death by the her parents: Rodolfo and Carmen Lailson; father and mother in law: Ramon S. Cruz and Felipa Martinez Cruz; siblings: Rodolfo Lailson Jr., Miguel Lailson, Rito Lailson; nephew: Juan Lailson, Lorenzo Lailson; grandson: Tony Cruz; great-grandchildren: Richard Anthony Caballero, Cynessa Lucio.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children: Cristobal (Juany) Cruz Jr., Felipe A. (Angie) Cruz, Daniel (Claudia) Cruz, Maria T. (Danny) Valdez, Patricia (David) Chapa, Rafael (Sahara) Cruz; grandchildren: Jacqueline Cruz, Christy Lee (Paul Martinez) Cruz, Jessica Elizabeth (Chris Welsh) Cruz, Jeremy (Melody) Cruz, Kira (Rudy Lopez) Cruz, Sasha Cruz, Desiree Marie (Jorge Alberto) Reyna, Vanessa (Joey) Leal, Steven Cruz, Randy Cruz, Jenny Cruz, Gina Chapa, Frank Moises (Claudia) Verduzco, Isaac Abram Verduzco, Ashley Lorraine (Jason) Cavazos, Yesenia (Gustavo Hernandez) Marie Chapa, David (Kelly Copley) Chapa Jr., Alyssa Cruz, Nicole Cruz; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; the father of her children: Cristobal Cruz Sr;siblings: Alicia Sotelo and Rafael Rosales, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive condolences on Monday, July 15, 2024, from 5 to 9 pm at Hillside Funerals & Cremations, where a Prayer Service will held at 7 pm.

The funeral procession will depart the chapel at 8:30 am on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3919 McPherson Rd, where a Funeral Service will commence at 9 am.

Committal and Graveside will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Jeremy Cruz, Felipe Antonio Cruz, Rafael Cruz, Daniel Cruz, Jason Cavazos, Abram Isaac Verduzco,  and David Chapa Jr.
