Maria Teresa De leon, 78, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at her residence in Edinburg, Texas. She was born on a Tuesday, August 12, 1947 in San Manuel, Texas to Santiago Alcoser and Candidad Vasquez Alcoser. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Oscar Leonel De leon Sr., two sisters; Guadalupe (Efrain) Flores, Sister and Ramona (Jose) Martinez and brother; Juan (Petra) Alcocer.
She is survived her loving children; Araceli Alcocer De Leon, Oscar Leonel De Leon, Jr., Veronica De Leon, Phillip (Viola) De Leon, Jose Luis (Dolores) Gonzalez and Jose Luis (Maria) Reyes, grandchildren; Julissa Gonzalez, Nichole Gonzalez, Brandon De Leon, Kyra Gill, Amy Marr, Jada De Leon and Clarissa Garcia and brother; Homer (Alicia) Alcoser as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Maria’s work ethics started a young age. She worked at Dairy Queen as a young adult, Haggar’s for 15 years and at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 5 years. Maria enjoyed baking, sewing and the beach but above all else she loved spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched.
The De Leon Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 22, 2025 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, Texas. Funeral Mass to be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg.
