Maria del Carmen Lopez Maria del Carmen Lopez, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed peacefully into eternal rest on August 24, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on November 17, 1953, in Sonora, Mexico, Maria brought warmth, joy, and unwavering love to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her kind spirit and infectious smile will be deeply missed, but her legacy of family devotion lives on in the hearts of those she held dear. Maria is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Elvia Lopez; her son, Phillip Luna; and her adoring grandchildren: Miranda Luna, Elizabeth Labra, Emily DeLaLuz, Stephanie Lopez, Hector Bueno, David Morales, Marcos Antonio Diaz, Fermin Gonzales, Abril Gonzales, Yvette Gonzales, Lluvia Gonzales, Heriberto Trejo Jr., and Maritza Morales. She also leaves behind her precious great-grandchildren: Semira Rodriguez, Halley Rikay Rodriguez, Cleo Chavez, Stephen Michael Chavez Jr., Melanie Jasmine De La Luz, and Felipe Emiliano Luna. Through her family, Maria's love continues to bloom like the plants she so tenderly cared for. A woman of simple yet profound joys, Maria found happiness in the beauty of the outdoors, nurturing her beloved plants, and sharing lively moments with those she loved. She had a playful fondness for a cold beer now and then, and nothing brought her more delight than firing up the barbecue for her grandkids or swaying to the rhythm on the dance floor. Above all, her family was her greatest passion, and she excelled as a grandparent, creating countless cherished memories filled with laughter, support, and heartfelt gatherings. Visitation will begin on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at DeLeon Funeral Home, where friends and family are warmly invited to come together in celebration of her life. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow at 12:00 noon on Saturday. Maria's spirit reminds us to embrace each day with love and joy-may she rest in eternal peace.
