Maria Delgado Obituary
July 29, 1946 - June 17, 2025
Maria Hernandez Delgado, age 78, entered into rest on June 17, 2025. She was born on July 29, 1946, in Dilley, Texas, and was a proud graduate of Dilley High School. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing and served the medical community for over 40 years.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Ysidro and Luisa Hernandez, and her brothers Ysidro Jr., Benito, Domingo, and Guadalupe.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Damian Delgado; her sons Damian Delgado Jr. and wife Gretchen, Dimas Delgado and wife Traci, and Dante Delgado and wife Heather. She leaves behind five cherished grandchildren: Emma, Evan, Parker, Isabelle, and Santiago Delgado.
Maria is also survived by her siblings: Heliberto Hernandez and wife Janelle, Rebecca Michaels and husband Lee, Ercilia Ramos and husband Armando, Viola Rocha and husband Guadalupe, and Juan Hernandez and wife Patricia. She is lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A viewing and rosary will be held on Monday, June 23rd, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Dellcrest Funeral Home, located at 2023 S. WW White Rd., San Antonio, TX 78222.
A Catholic Mass will be celebrated in her honor on Tuesday, June 24th, from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, 4535 Lord Rd., San Antonio, TX 78220. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, TX 78209.
Maria will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her warm spirit, and her deep faith. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
