Maria Sapienza DiGiacinto born on February 2, 1940, in Casteldaccia, Italy, passed away on February 15, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy marked by her dedication to family and her work in the community.
Throughout her career, Maria worked at Florsheim Shoe Co and The Pasta Shop, where she was known for her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
Maria's interests included cooking, a passion that brought joy to her family and friends. She also enjoyed hand washing clothing, reading her prayer book, and watching Sunday mass on the Italian channel RAI, which connected her to her roots.
She is survived by her children, Maria Concetta DiGiacinto, Lorenzo DiGiacinto, Giuseppe DiGiacinto, and Rosaria DiGiacinto Alduino; her grandchildren, Giuseppe Badalamenti, Gaetano DiGiacinto, Lorenzo DiGiacinto, Amanda R. Alduino, Giovanni A. Alduino, and Francesco M. Alduino; and her siblings, Filippa Sapienza and Rosario Sapienza.
Maria was preceded in death by her brother, Filippo Sapienza, her father, Giuseppe Sapienza, and her mother, Rosaria Coniglio. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
