On February 24, 2026, William (Bill) Buxbaum of Arlington Heights, IL passed away peacefully after a long and courageous journey, surrounded by love.
He was a man most at home in the quiet of the woods. Whether walking beneath tall trees, tending a garden bed with patient hands, or simply sitting outdoors listening to the wind move through the leaves, he found peace in the natural world. He loved classical music, the kind that filled a room gently and asked you to slow down and listen. He believed in the steadiness of seasons, the dignity of growing things, and the restoration that comes from fresh air and open sky.
He leaves behind his son, Daniel; his daughter, Lauren; and his son-in-law, Tanner, who carry forward his thoughtfulness, resilience, and deep appreciation for the outdoors.
He is reunited with his beloved wife of 48 years, Nancy, and his loyal canine companion, Sawyer, together again on a long walk somewhere peaceful.
In the spirit of Robert Frost’s “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening,” we remember that while the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, there are promises kept and miles walked with quiet strength.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
