Maria Guadalupe Garcia Peña
August 20, 1960 - January 11, 2025
Maria, also known as "Lupe" to her loved ones, was known as a woman who enjoyed gardening, cleanliness, cooking the best meals, being organized and over-all enjoyed being a woman of family the most. She took pride in being a mother, wife, and a grandmother or as her granddaughters would call her "guaya".
She raised her kids in the beautiful mountains of northeast Georgia, where she would constantly take them on adventures. Swimming, hiking, sight-seeing. Her heart would later on want to come home to Texas where she prioritized time with family. If you knew Maria, you knew she'd be spending most of her time in the kitchen where she made some of the most delicious meals. Hospitality was her thing; she enjoyed making everyone feel welcomed and she loved when you said yes to her meals. Her love language was definitely making sure you had a full stomach. Oh, but when the sun would shine, she would be out gardening her best plants and flowers. She loved nature in itself, and she felt so connected to everything she planted. Her flowers would bloom so beautifully and flourish like no other, she just had a way with her hands that everything she would touch would radiate with her energy!
Now that Maria has joined the Lord in heaven, I know she's reunited with loved ones. She's on the most beautiful adventure hiking the most beautiful mountains, swimming in the most beautiful bodies of water, gardening in her most precious garden, and cooking up her best meals. We will live every day missing you, keeping your memory alive and keep pushing on like you taught us to. There's just one thing you didn't teach us, and no amount of time could've ever prepared us for this, and that was to live without you. You leave such an emptiness in our hearts, but we know one day we will reunite and live eternally together, we love you Maria, in another lifetime.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Faustino Correa; daughter Cynthia Garcia; son Noe Correa; granddaughters Noelia Correa and Malea Correa.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 12:30 PM and services will begin at 2:00 PM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, TX. She will be laid to rest at Mayes Addition of Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial condolences may be made to the family at www.shmfh.com.
Proverbs 31:31
"Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate"
