MARIA TERESA HIRSCH

Maria Teresa Hirsch, a beloved educator renowned for her exceptional contributions to the field of mathematics, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, in Montebello, California. Born on September 18, 1949, in La Paz, Bolivia, Maria devoted over 40 years of her life to teaching, greatly impacting the lives of thousands of students and fellow educators.

An esteemed figure in the educational community, Maria was celebrated as a leading math teacher and served as the president of the Greater Los Angeles Math Council. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom; she was admired for her leadership in the math teacher association and was recognized for her innovative approach to teaching geometry through her artistic geometric drawings. Her passion for math and education made her a pillar of strength and knowledge in the community.

Maria's greatest joy in life was teaching, a calling she embraced wholeheartedly. She was known not only for her academic rigor but for her kindness and dedication to her students' success. Additionally, she cherished the companionship of her beloved cats, finding a special bond with her cat, Yuki, who was recognized as her spirit animal.

Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she nurtured and inspired. Maria is survived by her devoted son, Felix Cuadros, and her brothers, Luis Cuadros and Jorge Cuadros. Although her loss is profoundly felt, she is lovingly remembered and greeted at Heaven's Gate by her parents, Cesar and Dora Cuadros; her best friend and fellow teacher, Terrie Delgado; and her cherished cat, Timmy.
