Maria H. Kim

Maria H. Kim, 92, of Livingston, NJ passed away on April 24, 2023.
Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 2-4 pm in the Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Avenue, Roseland, NJ 07068, shookfarmer.com and from 7-9 pm in St. Andrew Kim Church, 80 Parker Avenue, Maplewood, NJ 07040. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 10 am in St. Andrew Kim Church with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
Born in North Korea, she grew up there and moved to South Korea, and came to the United States in 1971, lived in West Orange and settled in Livingston. Prior to her retirement, she owned and operated Blacks Wig Store in Newark. Maria was a devout catholic, who spent much time in prayer and attended daily mass. She was a volunteer at St. Philomena''s Church in Livingston and was a past president of the Women''s Club at St. Andrew Kim Church in Maplewood. She was a kind woman, who enjoyed helping others.
Pre-deceased by her parents, Jacob and Anna Kim and her daughter Lucy Kim.
Surviving is her beloved husband, Do Young; devoted children, Marina Kim, Helena Kim, and Rosa Kim (Kiwon Chang); cherished granddaughters, Katie Chang, Julia Chang, and Jennifer Lee; loving great-grandsons, Dante Chang and Sebastian Chang; dear brothers, Paul Kim and Joseph Kim.
