Maria Pannone Lavorgna, 77, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at her home, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 57 years to Michelino Lavorgna. Maria was born in Caiazzo providence of Caserta, Italy, on April 5, 1947, and was the daughter of the late Stefano and Margherita Rainieri Pannone. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and entertaining. Maria will be remembered as a "people lover", her doors were always open to family and friends and a hot meal would be prepared, whether you were hungry or not. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she loved unconditionally. Loving mother of Anthony, Steven (Lisa), and Margherita Lavorgna. Beloved grandmother of Marissa (Joe) Polaco and Gabriella Lavorgna. Great-grandmother of Everly and Violet Polaco. Sister of Filomena Cafararo, and the late Anna Mazzarella and Rita Carano.
The visiting hours will be Monday, December 2nd, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church on Tuesday, December 3rd, at 11:00 AM to attend a Mass of Christian Burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following in the All Saints Mausoleum. www.northhavenfuneral.com
