Maria Lee Hernandez Sampang

Maria Lee "Lhay" Sampang, 46, of Anchorage, Alaska, went to be with the Lord on November 1, 2025.
Lhay was a gentle and kind soul whose presence touched every heart she met. She found joy in cooking and listening to soulful love music. Quiet and compassionate, she always put others first and gave generously from her heart. She found joy in life's simple pleasures - casting her fishing line beneath Alaska's open skies and cherishing every moment with her beloved son, Mark Joshua, the light of her life.
Her quiet strength and tender spirit were a reflection of her beautiful soul. Lhay never raised her voice, yet her presence radiated peace and love wherever she went. God's love was with her always. Just as the shepherd in Luke 15:4–6 left the ninety-nine to seek the one lost sheep, He sought her out - not because she was perfect, but because she was precious. Now, she rests peacefully in His eternal care, embraced by His everlasting love.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her mother, Carlota; her brothers, Lyndon and Nolan; her sister, Shaliemar; and her son, Mark Joshua.
A memorial service to celebrate Lhay's life will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Legacy Heritage Funeral Home 440 E. Klatt Rd Anchorage, Alaska. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor the life of a woman whose heart was pure, her love unwavering, and whose memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
