Helen Voorhis

Helen F Voorhis, 75, of Delta Junction, AK went to be with the Lord on October 14, 2025. Helen was born on April 26, 1950 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho to her loving parents Harold and Mary Pixler. She and her husband Norman married on March 17, 1967 in Anchorage, AK. Her years as a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker were filled with hobbies such as painting, stamp and coin collecting, cooking, crafts, sewing, and gardening. In addition, she spent many hours preserving family history through genealogical research. She found strength and comfort in her Lutheran faith throughout her life.
She's survived by husband Norman L Voorhis; 3 children - Daniel L Voorhis (wife Loni), Gretchen J Short, Erica K East (husband George Jr); 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren - Amber Alvarez (husband Mario), Brigitte Thomas (husband Daniel and their two daughters), Cameron Voorhis, George East III. (daughter Evey Gilmore, wife Kayleigh, son Seiver, daughter Juliene), Tamara Strohl (husband Raymond, daughters Adalyn and Charlee), Emily Schink (husband Ben, daughters Danica, Adeline, and Veronica), Susan Spanbauer (husband Elijah, daughter Amelia), Matthew East, James East (wife Katie, sons Alister and Asher); 3 siblings - Minerva Shipman (husband Wes), Tom Pixler (wife Flo), Janice Carter (husband Steve); many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters - Mary Katherine and Galenna Jane, and her close friend Beverly.
There will be a Private Family Viewing at the Heritage Chapel at Angelus. Family and friends are invited to the Anchorage Lutheran Church on N Street at 11:30am on Monday, November 3rd for a public visitation and funeral service. The burial will follow at Fort Richardson and then a family dinner will be hosted at Golden Corral. For more information or to RSVP to the burial and/or the family dinner, please contact the family.
