Maria “Little” Wayman, 44 of Huber Heights, passed away on September 14, 2025 at home surrounded by her family. Maria was born on September 14, 1981 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of Gilbert and Maria Nieves.
She is preceded in death by her brother SPC Issac Nieves and her father Gilbert Nieves.
Maria is survived by her husband, Daniel Wayman; 2 children, Makayla Wayman and Kaitlyn Wayman; mother Maria Nieves of Binghamton, NY; 8 siblings; brothers LtC Gilberto Nieves of Ft. Sill OK, Det. Kevin Nieves of Binghamton NY, and Nicholas Nieves of Clay NY; sisters Priscilla Scutt of Unadilla NY, Gwendolyn Nieves and Victoria Nieves of Binghamton NY, Kimberly Shouk of Jacksonville FL and Doreen Nieves-Byler of Clyde NY. Maria is also survived by numerous family and friends.
She graduated from Park University and was employed by CDO Technologies. She enjoyed anime, experimenting in the kitchen, trips to Walmart and watching her girls play soccer. Maria’s personality was more than words can describe…outspoken, caring, hardworking, fierce friend and loving mother and the best wife. At the soccer fields Maria would loudly call the other players by the wrong numbers or names, IFYKY; she loved putting various patterns of duct tape on her broken car mirrors; she loved sharing sushi and seafood with Makayla; she loved it when Katie would play with her hair, but most of all she loved being surrounded by her family including her “loud” brothers and sisters. She is loved and will be deeply missed.
