Maria A. Matychak

Maria A. (Tina) Matychak, passed peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born in Ithaca on January 4, 1949 the daughter of the late Domingo and Lucy (O’Brien) Aguilar. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Daniel Matychak Jr. of Ithaca. Her beloved children Kelli (Kevin) Cartmill of Ithaca and Daniel (Jillian) Matychak III of Hamburg, NY. Her cherished grandchildren Nicholas, Zachary, & Lily Cartmill of Ithaca and Anna, Gabrielle, & Nora Matychak of Hamburg.

Tina graduated from Immaculate Conception School in 1962 & Ithaca High School in 1966. She worked for many years for Dr. Hart, Dr. Bishop, Dr. Robert Horn, and most recently employed at Dermatology Associates of Ithaca. Besides her parents, Tina was predeceased by her two brothers Lt. Col. D.I. Aguilar and Rene Aguilar and her sisters Carmen and Virginia. Tina leaves behind her two sisters Rita and Lisa, sister in law Mary (Dennis) Lubozynski, brother in law Thomas (MaryBeth) Matychak and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday, July 8 from 4-6pm at Bangs Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 9 at 10:30 am at Immaculate Conception Church.
