Maria N. Melesio, age 92, of Schiller Park passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Meadowbrook Manor, Naperville, Illinois.
Maria was born May 26, 1930, in Nogales, Mexico, daughter of the late Severiano and Vicenta (Figueroa) Martinez. Sister to Francisca, Margarita, Vicenta, Virginia, Ester, Cruz, Maria, Francisco, and Severino.
Maria enjoyed spending time with her family and long conversations with her sister, Maria. Holidays and family parties spent with grandchildren and grand nephews and nieces brought her much happiness as well as a plate of her favorite sweet desserts accompanied by a warm cup of coffee.
Survivors include her son, Artemio Melesio Jr.; her daughters Annabel Melesio and Isabel (Melesio) Fritzler; her daughter-in-law Laura (Sadowski) Melesio; her son-in-law Jim Fritzler (her favorite); her grandchildren Raquel (Dominguez) Miller, Ash Melesio, Lily Melesio, Trinity Fritzler, Tom Fritzler, Artemio J. Melesio, and Aviana Melesio; her great grandchildren Bobby, Massimo, Andrade, Saleece, and Marcello Miller; her numerous nieces and nephews including Margarita (Melesio) Hernandez, Bruno F. Melesio, and Jose Melesio; her numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews including Jessica Melesio, Alejandro Hernandez, Sebastian Hernandez, and Bruno Melesio Jr.; her great-grand niece Aaliyah Melesio. Extended survivors include George Hernandez, Benita (Cortez) Melesio, Robert Miller and Jessica (Augustine) Melesio.
Visitation Friday, December 9, 2022, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home, 9568 Belmont Ave., Franklin Park.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 8:45 am until time of prayers at 9:30 am before leaving to go to St. Gertrude Church for mass at 10:00 am.
Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois.
