Maria Guadalupe Mendiola

Maria Gudalupe was called "Mary" or "Lupita" born on July 21,1954 in Corpus Christi, Texas to her parents Manuel Olvera and Constanza (Connie) Trevino Olvera.

Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandma (granny), daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and compadres. She was a fulltime housewife and mom with a multifaceted role that required balancing various responsibilities. She balanced work and family from time to time, working briefly to sustain her family. Overall, her journey of being a full -time housewife and mom was dynamic and required resilience, flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstance. I felt as though my mom was the last generation of moms to be at home when we arrived home from school, which we will forever be grateful for her sacrifice and career halt. She lived through the success of her husband & children she celebrated all their achievements and accomplishments as her own. A constant source of love, wisdom and encouragement. She had a smile that was so radiant and lit up every room she entered.

Being hearing impaired she read books, the newspaper, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles love to text and all tv's had the captions on. Her favorite color was red, She loved to go dancing, play games such as cards, board games, dominoes, socializing on Facebook (I called it her therapy since posted her schedule online), listening to music, especially oldies and Little Joe and her all-time favorite spending time with immediate family and friends.

Preceded in death by parents Manuel & Connie Olvera, Sister Genoveva Cortez, husband Domingo Mendiola Jr. of 41 yrs., sons Juan Alberto Clark, Domingo Mendiola III, nephew Manual Anthony Martinez, grandson Caleb Thomas, granddaughter Elizabeth Rose Garza-Villarreal.

She is survived by daughters Lisa M. (Raul Gerardo) Garza-Villarreal of San Antonio, Tx. and Leslie Annette Tanguma of San Antonio, Tx. Grandchildren Juan Alberto (Maxine) Clark, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Tx, Jeremy Clark of Houston, Tx., Mark Guzman of Corpus Christi, Tx., Sergio Ortiz of Austin, Tx, Victoria Ruby Ann Guzman of Corpus Christi, Tx., Jose (Joey) (Marie R.)Tanguma, Jr. San Antonio, Tx., Erick (Faith) Tanguma of San Antonio, Tx., Domingo Mendiola, IV of Corpus Christi, Tx., Samantha Celeste Mendiola of Corpus Christi, TX., Maricela Dolores Mendiola of Corpus Christi, Tx., Maya Alyssa Garza-Villarreal of San Antonio, Tx.
