Maria Moctezuma Obituary
Maria Moctezuma, age 78, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Sweetwater Healthcare Center.
A prayer service will be held 6:30 P.M., Friday, March 14, 2025 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel followed by a rosary at 7:00 P.M. recited by Deacon David Mendez.
Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:00 P.M., Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Holy Spirit Catholic Parish with Father Josh Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Maria was born on December 28, 1946 in Zaragoza, Mexico to Jose and Juana (Valdez) Dominguez. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Parish. She worked as a baker for Doris Sweet Shop for many years.
She is survived by two sons, Rolando Gutierrez and wife Annie and Florencio Gutierrez, all of Aurora, Illinois; and daughter, Juanita Gutierrez of Sweetwater, Texas; grandchildren, Nicholas T. Gutierrez, Alexandrea Gutierrez, and Mateo Gutierrez; great granddaughter, Olivia Gutierrez; brother, Eugenio Dominguez of Sweetwater, Texas; dear friend, Nora Alaniz of Sweetwater, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose & Juanita Dominguez, brothers, Pedro Dominguez and Rojelio Dominguez and sister, Antonia Dominguez Barrones.
Pallbearers will be Domingo Castillo, Jr., David Valdez, Mike Dominguez, Peter Dominguez, Danny Dominguez and Andrew Castillo.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mateo Gutierrez, Nick Gutierrez, and Leo Dominguez.
