Maria Adalina Rodriguez was born April 24, 1931 in the Montrose Valley, the daughter to Carmelita Garcia and Juan Rodriguez. She passed away on October 16, 2025 in her home in Grand Junction, CO surrounded by loved ones at the blessed age of 94.
Adeline was an incredibly strong woman. Adeline lost her mother and raised her younger sister at a very young age. This gave her an incredible work ethic, which resulted in running the Lazy M Store in Egnar for several years. When the store burned, she spent many years serving her community in Egnar/Dove Creek as a bus driver and custodian. She prided herself that she never was stuck or had to be rescued driving that bus up and down Slickrock through the winter. Adeline met and married the love of her life, Melquiadez Ismael Montano on July 10, 1950. She lovingly cared for him until he passed away in 2007. When it came to her family, the best word to describe her was present. She loved everyone and enjoyed every minute that she was included in our lives. If you knew Adeline, you know you have been very blessed.
Surviving Adeline are her children, Carmelita Sanchez of Cortez, Donna Brackett (Ken) of Egnar, Lorraine Powell of Grand Junction; by her grandchildren Brandon Sanchez (Mistina), Mandi Birge (Jeremy), Chris Brackett (Amber), Cara Bingham (Jesse), Devon Martinez (Chad), Angelina Campbell, Cory Brackett (Tonya), Kristen Powell; Honorary Grandchildren; Erika Gaunt, Hunter Stam, Julie Bingham; Great Grandchildren, Micaiah, BriAnna, Liann, Tierra, Oren, Hayden, Finnley, Elsa; and seven great great grandchildren who were the apple of her eye.
Adeline was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, son and husband.
