Maria Elvira Morado
January 25, 1953 - September 25, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Maria Elvira Morado, who peacefully departed this life on September 25, 2024, in Chicago, IL, at the age of 71, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born on January 25, 1953, in Chihuahua, Mexico, Maria's life was a testament to love, dedication, and resilience.
Maria's journey began in the vibrant town of San Luis Potosi, SLP, Mexico, where she was raised in a close-knit family. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Bruno F Hernandez-Ramirez and Consuelo Hernandez-Orta, and her cherished siblings, Jose F Hernandez.
In 1971, Maria embarked on a new chapter when she married her true love, Ruben Morado, on December 4, in Chicago, IL. Their union, which spanned an incredible 52 years, was filled with unwavering devotion and an abundance of shared memories.
Maria was the doting mother of four children: Rene Morado, Rebecca Morado, Ruben Morado (Jennifer), and Sergio Morado (Mary). She leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Her nurturing spirit also extended to her siblings, Juana H Briseno (Israel), Josefina Creighton (Kevin), Gregoria Esquivel (Victor), Elisabeth Celio (Jesus), and Virginia Radosta (Vito), whom she adored dearly. Maria was further blessed with the joy of being an aunt to Noemi Ruiz, Sara Hernandez-Monroig, Raquel Hernandez, and Patricio Hernandez.
Maria's academic pursuits led her to achieve a Masters of Education & Education Leadership, a testament to her commitment to learning and personal growth. She dedicated her career to the betterment of others as a High School Special Education Teacher for the Chicago Public Schools, where she made a lasting impact on countless lives before her retirement.
Her interests extended beyond her professional life, as she was an adept seamstress, creating beautiful dresses for herself and her loved ones. Maria found joy in sewing, knitting, crocheting, and occasionally trying her luck at the slot machines in the casino. Her culinary skills were unparalleled, and her Mexican dishes, prepared from scratch, became a staple of family gatherings. Maria's home was always filled with warmth and tradition, especially during the Posadas she hosted yearly and the Nativity Scene she lovingly set up in her dining room.
Maria's love for dancing was infectious, and she brought joy and laughter to every event with her lively spirit. Her legacy of love, creativity, and dedication will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
We invite family and friends to celebrate Maria's life at the Benson Family Funeral Home, located at 3224 W Montrose Ave, Chicago, IL 60618. The funeral service will be held on September 30, 2024, at 3:30 PM.
In honoring Maria's memory, we reflect on a life well-lived, full of love, joy, and countless cherished moments. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her. Rest in peace, Maria Elvira Morado. You will be dearly missed.
