In Loving Memory of Maria Elena Navas
October 26, 1943 – November 24, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Maria Elena Navas, on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the age of 81, after battling multiple illnesses. Born on October 26, 1943, in El Salvador, Maria Elena was the embodiment of kindness, warmth, and love.
Maria Elena lived a life full of joy and gratitude, finding beauty in the simplest moments. She loved listening to music and gardening, and her happiest times were spent surrounded by her family. In 2001, she moved to the United States to be with her daughter, Ana Bessy, and to help care for her granddaughter, Joselyn, and grandson, Benjamin, a couple years later-a role she cherished deeply.
She was known for her sweet nature and her radiant smile, which never left her face, even during her time in the hospital. Maria Elena loved going on walks to the park or the grocery store when she still could, and she never missed an opportunity to dance at family gatherings. She touched countless lives with her kindness, and those who knew her fondly remember the small, thoughtful ways she made them feel special and loved.
Maria Elena is survived by her three daughters: Ana Bessy Flores, Mirna Sanchez, and Kendy De Escalante; and her three grandchildren: Joselyn Silesky, Benjamin Nuflo, and Fabio Escalante. Her legacy of love, kindness, and gratitude will live on in the hearts of her family and everyone she met.
Details for her memorial and funeral services are forthcoming. We are tentatively planning her memorial for Wednesday, December 4, 2024, and her funeral and burial for Thursday, December 5, 2024.
As we bid farewell to Maria Elena, we take solace in knowing that her story does not end here. Her love remains a guiding light, leading us toward a future filled with hope and the promise of joy in the connections we continue to nurture in her honor.
