Maria Monserrat Reino April 25, 1946 – August 30, 2025 With deep love and gratitude for her life, the family of Maria Monserrat "Monse" Reino announces her passing on August 30, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on April 25, 1946, in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Monse was the beloved daughter of the late Ernesto Martinez and Manuela Izurieta and sister of the late Ernesto Martinez Jr. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of a lifetime, Herminio Reino, and her devoted children: Marcia Martinez, Giovanni Reino, Adolfo Franco, Fernando Franco, and Roberto Franco. Along with their spouses, Junior Martinez, Marilu, Joyce, Jenny, and Roberta. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Gianna and Natalia Martinez, and Erika, William, Rozana, Sara, Evelyn, Jackie, Anthony and Nicholas Franco who brought endless joy to her heart. She was also blessed to welcome 2 great-grandchildren. Monse is also survived by her cherished siblings Freddy Martinez and María Esther Martinez, with whom she shared lifelong bonds of love and laughter. To her family, Monse was everything. She loved them more than life itself, filling their days with warmth, humor, and kindness. She had a gift for making everyone feel at home, whether through her laughter, her comforting presence, or the incredible meals she prepared. Known as the best cook, Monse's kitchen was always overflowing with food, love, and the joy of sharing. She delighted in learning new recipes and welcoming everyone to her table. Beyond the kitchen, she poured her heart into making her home a sanctuary-beautifully decorated and always ready to receive family and friends. She adored her husband Herminio, and together they created a home filled with love, faith, and togetherness. Monse will forever be remembered for her generous spirit, her devotion to her loved ones, and her ability to make every gathering feel special. Her legacy is one of love, hospitality, and family above all else. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 5:00–9:00 PM at Hennessy Heights Funeral Home in Hasbrouck Heights. A funeral mass will follow on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Hackensack, with burial immediately after. Fue una orgullosa y amorosa abuela de Gianna y Natalia Martínez, y Erika, William, Rozana, Sara, Evelyn, Jackie, Anthony y Nicholas Franco, quienes llenaron su corazón de alegría. Su legado es de amor, hospitalidad y familia por encima de todo. La velación se llevará a cabo el viernes 5 de septiembre de 2025, de 5:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m. en Hennessy Heights Funeral Home en Hasbrouck Heights. La misa fúnebre se celebrará el sábado 6 de septiembre de 2025, a las 10:00 a.m. en la iglesia St. Anthony of Padua en Hackensack, seguida de la sepultura inmediatamente después.
