Maria Magdalena "Nena" Rendon de Payan, age 77, was born in Durango, Mexico, and a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Maria was received by the lord September 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Maria was a warrior, strong, a woman of undeniable faith, and devoted wife. Enjoyed her time in the kitchen cooking and baking, feeding anyone she could; making people laugh, having the most contagious laugh at that. Above all doing whatever possible to make sure her family was happy; she Loved her children and grandchildren more than anything. Spent most of her days sewing or knitting, singing alongside her husband, and reading her bible, holding on to her faith and praying until her last breath. Maria is survived by her husband Ernesto Payan, Maria met the love of her life at the age of Twelve years old, were together Ten years before getting married; Lived Fifty-six fulfilling years next to her husband. Maria is survived by her four children she loved dearly, Cayetano Payan and wife Patricia, Ernesto Payan Jr. and wife April, Sergio Payan and wife Alejandra, and only daughter Denise Araujo Payan and husband Felipe: sibling’s, Pepe Rendon Lares, Pasqual Rendon Lares, Cuca Rendon Lares, Anita Rendon Lares, Tere Contreras Rendon Lares, Lupito Rendon Lares, Doroteo Rendon Lares, and Jesus Rendon Lares; grandchildren, Viviana Gonzalez Payan and husband Enrique, Miguel Angel Payan and fiancé Perla, Karina Estrada-Araujo and husband Adrian, Rosalinda Araujo and fiancé David, Maria Payan, Mariela Payan, Damien and Myla; great-grandchild, Enrique Enzo Gonzalez; along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving friends. Maria is preceded in death by parents, Jose Rendon and Guadalupe Lares; sister, Maricela “Chela” Rodriguez; grandson, Jonathan Payan; Best friend and sister in Christ, Luz Elena Valenzuela. A visitation will be held Friday, September 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 12:00 p.m. to be held in The Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, located at 1000 Old Coor Drive SW, Albuquerque, NM 87121. A Burial will follow the service to Fairview Memorial Park located at 700 Yale Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106. Pallbearers will be Cayetano Payan, Sergio Payan, Felipe Araujo, Miguel Angel Payan, Adrian Estrada, David Savage, and Hector Valenzuela. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ernesto Payan Jr., Carlos Lerma, and Armando Lerma.
María Magdalena "Nena" Rendón de Payán, de 77 años, fue nacida en Durango, México, y residente de toda la vida de Albuquerque, Nuevo México. María fue recibida por el Señor el 8 de septiembre de 2024, rodeada de su amorosa familia. María era una guerrera, fuerte, una mujer de fe innegable y una esposa devota. Disfrutaba de su tiempo en la cocina cocinando y horneando, alimentando a quien pudiera; haciendo reír a la gente, teniendo la risa más contagiosa. Sobre todo haciendo lo posible para asegurarse de que su familia fuera feliz; amaba a sus hijos y nietos más que a nada. Pasaba la mayor parte de sus días cosiendo o tejiendo, cantando junto a su esposo y leyendo su Biblia, aferrándose a su fe y orando hasta su último aliento. A María le sobrevive su esposo Ernesto Payán, María conoció al amor de su vida a la edad de doce años, estuvieron juntos diez años antes de casarse; vivió cincuenta y seis años satisfactorios al lado de su esposo. A María le sobreviven sus cuatro hijos a quienes amaba entrañablemente, Cayetano Payán y su esposa Patricia, Ernesto Payán Jr. y su esposa April, Sergio Payán y su esposa Alejandra, y su única hija Denise Araujo Payán y su esposo Felipe: hermanos, Pepe Rendon Lares, Pasqual Rendon Lares, Cuca Rendon Lares, Anita Rendon Lares, Tere Contreras Rendon Lares, Lupito Rendon Lares, Doroteo Rendon Lares, Jesus Rendon Lares; nietos, Viviana González Payán y su esposo Enrique, Miguel Ángel Payán y su prometida Perla, Karina Estrada-Araujo y su esposo Adrián, Rosalinda Araujo y su prometido David, María Payán, Mariela Payán, Damián y Myla; bisnieto, Enrique Enzo González; junto con varias sobrinas, sobrinos, tías, tíos, primos y queridos amigos. A María le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Jose Rendon y Guadalupe Larez; hermana, Maricela “Chela” Rodríguez; nieto, Jonathan Payán; Mejor amiga y hermana en Cristo, Luz Elena Valenzuela. Se llevará a cabo una velación el viernes 13 de septiembre de 2024 a las 11:00 a.m. con un servicio conmemorativo a continuación a las 12:00 p.m. que se llevará a cabo en The Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, ubicada en 1000 Old Coor Drive SW, Albuquerque, NM 87121. Después del servicio habrá un entierro en Fairview Memorial Park, ubicado en 700 Yale Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106.
