Maria Elizabeth Shadbolt

It is with deep love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Elizabeth Shadbolt, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, on September 2, 2025, at the age of 55.
Born on August 24, 1970, in Mount Clements, Maria lived a life full of warmth, generosity, and strength. On October 12, 2002, she married her devoted husband, Mark, and together they shared nearly 23 years of marriage filled with love, partnership, and cherished memories. Their greatest joy was raising their children, Greyson and Victoria, and building a family grounded in laughter, care, and devotion. Maria will be remembered for her deep love of teaching and children, and for the joy she brought into every classroom and every young life she guided. Beyond her profession, she was known and loved by everyone who met her-family, friends, and especially the nurses and staff at the hospitals where she received care. Despite her illness, she always greeted them with smiles, laughter, warmth, and fun, forming bonds that brought comfort to both her and those who cared for her. Her family is forever grateful to all of the nurses and staff who treated her with such compassion and dedication throughout her illness.
She also carried a playful side that everyone cherished. She adored her "three girls"-her dogs Bella, Bear, and Mistywho never left her side and filled her days with unconditional love. She also had a lifelong fondness for elephants, drawn to their gentleness, strength, and wisdom, qualities that so beautifully reflected her own spirit.
She is survived by her loving husband Mark, her children Greyson and Victoria, her sister Nancy, and her brothers James (Carol) and Marvin (Kathleen) Strzyzewski. She was preceded in death by her dear brother Michael, sister Carol and Parents Marvin and Gertrude Strzyzewski. She will be dearly missed by her dear nieces and nephews David, Mary, Theresa, Ian and Lauren and great nephew Ryan Jr. Her extended family across England and countless friends will remember her with love.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 3-9pm with a 6pm Rosary at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile Rd). Instate will be 9:30 until the time of Mass at 10am at St. Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families 25252 Van Dyke, Center Line, MI 48015 on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
