Maria Silva Obituary
Mom lost her Mother at a young age. Later she came to the U.S. with a nephew. Sadly, he passed away a few years back. Mom made Chicago, and most importantly Bridgeport neighborhood her home, met her future husband in a dance club in the neighborhood, and she would later own a house in the same neighborhood not far from the dance club. She was kind, always there to help, never a bad bone in her body. She had a sense of humor that was unique to her. Could be stubborn but seemed to help in life, once she dug her heels in, that's it. Mom was also a Marshall Field's girl, loved to go downtown, shop for shoes and dresses. Mom was a strong woman, being a welder/ machinist in the 70s in a man's world. Mom was married 50 years to my Pops, a love and bond between them so strong until the end. May you rest in peace, and now you get to see your Mom, Dad, Sisters, and Brothers who have gone to the Heavenly Gates.
Visitation for Maria will be Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 3-8 pm and Thursday, August 3, 2023 8:30 -9:30 am at Walter Pomerski & Son Funeral Home, 1059 West 32nd Street, Chicago, IL 60608. A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday 10 am at St. Mary of Perpetual Help Church, 1039 West 32nd Street, Chicago, IL 60608. INT. St. Casimir Cemetery. (773) 927-6424

So many great memories with Chuy back in the day. My mom ( Ofelia ) and Chuy loved going to downtown shopping we would ride the bus and make a whole day out of it . Chuy and Miguel would invite us frequently to grill at their home and I remember also playing w Miguel Jr outside just being kids . God bless may she rest in peace
