Marian Beck Obituary

She was born October 31, 1951, in Jacksonville the daughter of Wayne and Margaret (Patterson) Bracewell, and they preceded her in death. She married Donald Beck on May 18, 1996, in Springfield. She is survived by her husband and several cousins.
Marian was a member of First United Methodist Church in Springfield, where she was active in Women's Bible Study and served with the meal preparation team serving many funeral dinners.
Marian was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, taking part in the social activities and dinners of the chapters. She served as President and held other offices in the chapters in which she was a member. She achieved the Order of the Rose in that sorority.
She worked as a Coder for Memorial Medical Center, and as a Medical Transcriptionist for SIU School of Medicine as well as St. John's Hospital.
Marian graduated from Triopia High School in 1969. In 1988, she graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
A private service will be held. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church in Springfield. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com.
