St. Martinville - A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Marian Eastin, 90, who passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am.
A Rosary will be prayed at 10:00 am on Wednesday morning.
Father Jason Vidrine will officiate the Memorial Mass. Readers will be Teddy Eastin, Jr. and Melissa Savoy. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
Marian was a long-time parishioner at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. She loved to garden and was a member of the St. Martinville Garden Club for many years. Marian also enjoyed playing "Bridge" with her friends. Above all, one of her favorite things was to cook family dinners for everyone on Sundays and for every holiday. Marian was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Gremillion and Marie Murnane (James); sons, Teddy Eastin (Bobbie), Rock Eastin (Sherry) and Shelby Eastin, II (Gina); grandchildren, Cecil Gremillion, III (Joni), Crystal Deshotel (Jacques), Michelle Savoy, Melissa Savoy, Melanie Murnane (Thomas), Teddy Eastin, Jr. (Nicole), Joshua Eastin, Erin Baumbach (Brent), Jessica Langston (Colby), Robin Eastin, Sophia Eastin and Benjamin Eastin; great-grandchildren, Zoe, Wade, William, Ian, Christian, Tanner, Devon, Marco, Blythe, William, Henry, Anna Claire, Grace, Corbin, Bonner and Emma; great-great-grandchildren, Amora and Troy; brother, Judge John Conery (Brooksie); sister, Margot Clifford (Jim); and numerous nieces and nephews with whom she was very close with.
She is preceded in death by her former husband, Shelby Eastin; son, Edward Eastin; grandson, Michael Gremillion; son-in-law, Cecil B. Gremillion, Jr.; parents, Emmet Conery and Margaret Delaloire Conery; and her sister, Joanna Durand, and husband, Marine.
