Marian J. Fansler, 98, of Leesport, formerly of Reinholds, died Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Berks Heim, Leesport.
She was the wife of Marvin M. Fansler, who died July 28, 2011.
Born in South Hanover Twp., Dauphin County, PA on August 31, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Edwin Hamilton and Bessie Della (Shive) Gruber.
Marian was a member of Host Church, Bernville. She was a stay at home mom and often a caretaker for her large extended family of siblings, in-laws and many nieces and nephews. She was a willing babysitter of her grandchildren. From early in her marriage she opened her house to family needing respite and providing love and guidance. She was affectionately known as Mom and Grandmom or Mother to her extended family. For many years, her kitchen hosted adult family Sunday afternoon pinnacle games. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, word and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed TV game shows, and was an avid reader of the daily newspaper.
She is survived by a daughter, Marcia, wife of Jeff Albitz, of Muhlenberg Twp.; sons, Morris, husband of Carol Fansler, of Media, Mark, husband of Bonnie Fansler, of Fleetwood, Mel, husband of Deborah Fansler, of Womelsdorf; son-in-law, Roy Brennan, of Reinholds; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; the Fields Family; and six sisters-in-law. Marian was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Brennan and great-grandson, Theo Isales.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Host Church, 80 Host Church Rd., Bernville, preceded by a viewing beginning at 9 a.m. Interment will be at the adjoining church cemetery.
