He was the husband of Carolyn E. (Ingling) Giovacchini.
Born in Chicago, IL on April 16, 1941, he was a son of the late Melvin and Mary (DeVito) Giovacchini.
A 1959 graduate of Hinsdale High School, Hinsdale, IL, he attended Pueblo State College in Colorado. Melvin served in the US Coast Guard. He was franchise owner of various McDonald's locations in New Jersey.
In addition to his wife, Melvin is survived by daughters, Cheri, wife of David Lockett; Lora, wife of Chris Foley; son, David, husband of Alyssa Giovacchini; and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Services will be announced at a later date. Inurnment will be private.
