Marian Kathryn Gerhold, a steadfast friend to many, passed away on December 11, 2024, at the age of 95. Born on October 24, 1929, Marian lived a life rich in faith, friendship, and passion for the world around her.
For many years, Marian dedicated herself as a bookkeeper, a role that not only showcased her keen attention to detail but also allowed her to connect with countless individuals in both her professional and personal life. Yet it was in her retirement that her true spirit shined brightest. Embracing the golden years with zeal, Marian devoted her time to volunteering at the Clay County Senior Services, touching the lives of those around her with her warmth and kindness.
Those who knew Marian often remember her as a woman of deep faith. She found solace and community in her ladies Circle group at the First Presbyterian Church of North Kansas City, where her heart for service and connection thrived.
An avid walker, Marian cherished the simple joys of life. Her passion for reading found an outlet in the vibrant discussions of her book club, where she connected with fellow literature lovers, sharing insights and weaving new friendships. The stories she read and shared often mirrored the rich tapestry of her own life, filled with love, laughter, and learning.
Marian had a particularly tender heart for animals, often feeding the stray cats in her neighborhood. Her compassion extended beyond her family and friends, embodying her nurturing spirit and her deep connection to all living beings.
As we remember Marian, let us celebrate her laughter, her unwavering faith, her kindness, and her zest for life. Each memory we hold dear reflects a woman who not only lived but truly embraced her place in the world, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
