Marian H. McCormick, 81, a beloved longtime resident of Hoquiam, Washington, was called to Heaven on January 1, 2025.
Marian was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on November 10, 1943, to Harry and Betty Meek. Marian met and fell in love with James McCormick and they married in 1959. They spent most of their lives out in East Hoquiam, where they raised their four beloved children. Marian loved her country home, watching the elk graze her fields and getting visitors. She canned most summers to make sure the pantry was full for the year.
Marian enjoyed fishing,(in her younger years), playing bingo, solving crossword puzzles, and reading. She was an enthusiastic Mariners baseball fan. Family gatherings were among her favorite occasions, and she was known for her warm response, “I love you more”, whenever her children or grandkids said, "I love you.”
Marian is preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents; and her siblings, Laney and Gerry.
She is survived by her four children: Susan McCormick, Barbara Forbes, Carolyn Bowers, and James McCormick; her ten grandchildren; and her seven great grandchildren.
A graveside gathering with family and close friends will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 2:30 PM located at Fern Hill Cemetery in Aberdeen, Washington.
