Marian E. O'Shea (nee Ralff), age 99, of Leesburg, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 23, 2025.

Marian was the beloved wife of John M. O'Shea, who preceded her in death in 2006 after 51 years of devoted marriage.

Marian is also predeceased by her parents, Frances and Charles Ralff; her siblings, Jeanne Carson, William Ralff, and David Ralff, along with their spouses; and her brother-in-law, Sam Krekian, and his wife, Maureen O'Shea Krekian. Also predeceased by 3 nephews and survived by many nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Kingston, NY, Marian graduated from Plattsburgh State Teachers College and the School of Nursing in Plattsburgh, NY, in 1947. She later earned her Master's Degree in Childhood Education.

She married the love of her life, John, on November 20, 1954, in Kingston, NY, beginning a partnership marked by love, laughter, and mutual respect. They started their life together on Long Island, NY, eventually moved to Lake Harmony, PA, and after fifteen years as snowbirds, finally settled in Florida as permanent residents.

Marian dedicated her career to nursing where she served as a compassionate school nurse for many years. Her commitment to caring for others touched countless lives.

A passionate quilter, Marian was the first president of the Quilting Sisters Guild in Leesburg, FL from 2003-2005 and started the Guild in her home in 2001. She found joy in creating beautiful quilts, often giving them to friends, family, and charitable organizations. Her artistry and leadership inspired many in the Lake County quilting community. Her quilts warmed not just bodies, but hearts.

Marian supported John throughout his eight years of military service along with all the members of the military family. She often reminded those around her that "Freedom is not free", urging everyone to honor those that have sacrificed for our country. She actively participated in veterans events to the end.

Marian and John shared a passion for travel, card games, and discovering new places, always embracing life's adventures together. They cherished attending Model A Ford events with their dear friends, Gail and Buddy. In her later years, Marian found great joy in visiting the home of her close friends, Nancy and Ray, where she treasured their companionship and the warmth of many delicious home-cooked meals.

Her faith was a guiding light. She was a mentor, animal lover (most especially her puppy dogs Jet I and Jet II), music lover, role model and giver to her nieces, nephews, and Godchildren, who continue to cherish her memory. Marian believed in the power of kindness and the importance of family and friends. Because of her, we will remember to greet every day with gratitude and a big smile, guiding us through life's joys and challenges.

May Marian's memory continue to inspire and touch our lives. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday November 26, 2025 at 10:30am at Page Theus Funeral Home and via https://www.hdezwebcast.com/show/marian-ralff-oshea?pass=363b12763d003ade8458112461af0ed0 for those that cannot attend.
