Marian J. "Paris" Plummer

Marian J. (Paris) Plummer , age 95, of Minneapolis, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025.

Marian loved her family and was deeply loved in return. She also had a lifelong devotion to animals, who always seemed to find their way to her. She was born on November 23, 1930, in Fargo, North Dakota, and graduated from North Dakota State University. After college, she moved to Minneapolis, where she taught math in the Mound and St. Louis Park school districts until she married and began raising her family.

An astute businesswoman, Marian - alongside her late husband, Clark - built and managed a successful residential rental property business, which she continued to manage throughout her life. She was the beloved matriarch of her family: kind, generous, and devoted.

Marian was a master bridge player and a passionate Minnesota sports fan, faithfully cheering for the Gophers, Timberwolves, and Vikings. She found her greatest joy in time spent with family and friends, at her cabin on Green Lake, managing her rental properties, befriending any animals that crossed her path, and, in her later years, watching boats and daily life unfold on Lake Calhoun.

She was preceded in death by her parents Nicholas Paris and Lillian Paris Luker; her beloved husband, Clark Plummer; her brother, Dean Paris and his wife, Margaret; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sherwin and Mickey Plummer.

She is survived by her loving children: Lori; Lance (Michelle); Linda O'Leary (Brad); and Leslee (Charlie Roach), and special nephew Nick Paris.

Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Nick (Chelsie), Kyle, Sam, Jack, Robert (Cassie), Austin, Trenten, Kendell (Brock), Quenten, Ashton, and Jacob; and her adored great-grandchildren: Olivia, Bodhi, Isabel, Enzo, Harley, and Addison.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, February 8 at 2PM at Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church - 511 Groveland Avenue , Minneapolis. Visitation 1 hour prior to the service and a reception to follow service.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in honor of Marian's memory to the Animal Humane Society of MN.

Marian will be so greatly missed by all who loved her on earth, while those in heaven - including the many animals she so dearly loved - are happily welcoming her home.
