Marian E, Riha of Davenport, Florida passed away on November 2, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was 98 years old. She was born on February 2, 1927, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Frederick and Anna Gaudian Sprandel and moved to Davenport in 2015 from Waxhaw, North Carolina.
Marian was a teacher's aide with the Peebles Elementary School in Bourne, Massachusetts, retiring in 1990. She was a member of St. Margarets Church in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts and attended St. Ann Catholic Church in Haines City, Florida. Some of Marian's interests included cooking, making jam, working on puzzles, traveling, going to holiday dances and square dancing, but most of her time was occupied with reading and studying the word of Christ with her Bible study friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Anna; her husband, Major John D. Riha, and her siblings. Marian is survived by her children, Kathleen LeBlanc, John Riha and his wife, Christine, Richard Riha and his wife, Sandra, Michael Riha and his wife, Lisa as well as 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Ann Catholic Church in Haines City and burial will be next to her husband in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospitality House of Charlotte 1400 Scott Ave., Charlotte, NC 28203 or at www.hospitalityhouseofcharlotte.rg, her granddaughter has a personal connection.
Following mass, a luncheon will be held at the Clubhouse at High Vista Ridgewood Lakes, 101 High Vista Drive, Davenport, Florida 33837. Family and friends are warmly invited to join in fellowship and to share cherished memories together.
